A student of Wolfgang Rausch and Norbert Brainin, Markus Berthold has been giving numerous concerts throughout Europe and Asia as a member of the Assindia Quartet and the Ensemble Novalis. He attended masterclasses given by H. Szeryng, V. Paraschkevov, E. Hurwitz, Ch. Poppen and N. Brainin and received intensive chamber music lessons given by the members of the legendary Amadeus Quartet. After 15 years of orchestral career in Germany, Markus Berhold now lives in Switzerland and gives his full concentration to playing chamber music.
