A student of Maria Kliegel and the legendary Amadeus-Quartet, Frieder Berthold has been a frequently invited soloist and a chamber musician in Europe, America, Russia, and Asia. His sponsers include the Würth Foundation, which also allowed his studies with Janos Starker in Bloomington, USA. He attended many international music festivals including Amadeus Summer Course, Orlando Festival, Kronberg Festival, Accademia Chigiana, FestiValGardena. He has concertized with Norbert Brainin (Amadeus Quartet) and Ferdinand Erblich (Orlando Quartet).
